The
Colorado Masons' Benevolent Fund
The
Colorado Masons' Benevolent Fund contributions to higher education
consists of three programs; Scholarships, Vocational Grants and
Educational Grants. All require that an applicant be
a graduating high school senior in a public high school within the state
of Colorado and that the award be used in any certified institution
within the state of Colorado. The recipients of these
awards are chosen primarily for leadership, maturity, need and
scholastic ability without reference to race, religion, gender or
Masonic relationship.
The
applications and instructions for the Scholarship and Vocational Grant
programs are distributed only through the high school counselors. The
scholarship administrator will mail this material to each counseling
office in late October of each year. This allows
plenty of time for applicants to meet the March application deadline.
The local lodges control the applications for the Educational
Grant Award Program.
The
Scholarships are for up to $7000 per year, renewable of four years, for
a total of $28,000. Vocational Grants are one time
$2000 grants for vocational training. Educational
Grant amounts are determined by the local lodge.
